Buffalo Women's Hoops Preparing For Niagara

Jessica Kochendorfer will be looking to reach a milestone on Saturday at 5 pm

BUFFALO, NY When the Bulls hit the floor at Niagara on Saturday afternoon, senior forward Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy) will be only five points away from reaching 1,000 for her career. She would be only the 13th UB women's player to reach that milestone.

Buffalo, 1-4, also has other objectives in mind though, including earning its first road win of the season. UB will also be trying to avoid its worst start since the 1992-93 season.

One of the Bulls' primary problems has been scoring points. Through five games, Buffalo is averaging just 53.8 points per game. UB is also shooting only 13.3 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Niagara meanwhile, comes in with a 2-2 record. Two Purple Eagles are averaging in double figures - senior forward Colleen Toetz (18.3 points per game) and junior point guard Eva Cunningham (16.8).

Buffalo has won each of the contests between the two schools in the past three seasons, but Niagara still holds a 16-10 all-time series edge.
