Bulls Win at Albany; Move to 5-1ALBANY, NY - The Bulls moved to 5-1 overall after defeating The University at Albany, 71-57 in non-conference action at the Recreation and Convocation Center Thursday night (12/9). The game was the first meeting between the two State Univeristy of New York schools. Four players recorded career-highs as the Bulls advanced their winning streak to five games. Junior guard Nisha Wilson (Toronto, Ontario/Hampton University), junior guard Tara Perrier (Aurora, Ontario) and freshman guard Colleen Tabor (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) all recorded career highs in scoring in the win over the Great Danes. Wilson went 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-5 from the charity stripe for her 17 points. Perrier and Tabor both came off the bench to spark the Bulls and get their career-highs. Perrier went 5-of-8 from the field, including 1-of-2 from the three-point line for 11 points in just fifteen minutes and Tabor went 4-of-6, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc for 10 points. Senior guard Sonia Ortega (Chihuahua, Mexico/Cobach) also recorded a carrer high in assists with 10. Senior center Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) led all scorers in the game with 19 points. The Bulls, who are 3-0 on the road this season, outrebounded the Great Danes, 40-30 and forced them into to 29 turnovers for the win. The Bulls return home to face Idaho State this Saturday (12/11) in Alumni Arena at 2:00pm. |
