Bell Named MAC East Player of the WeekBUFFALO, NY - For the second week in a row, a University at Buffalo women's basketball player was honored by the Mid-American Conference as the MAC East Player of the Week. Senior Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) earned the honor this week after posting double-doubles to help the Bulls to wins over Niagara, 72-67, and Canisius, 73-59. For the week, Bell averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds, and she hit 50% of her shots from the field (14-for-28). Bell had 15 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks in UB's win over Niagara and then followed that performance with 21 points, 12 boards, two blocks and two steals versus Canisius. With 36 points on the week, Bell moved into third place all-time in career scoring at UB with 1,179 career points, passing her former teammate Charissa Gardner (1,173 career points, 1994-98). Bell also moved up on UB's career rebounds list. She now stands in eighth place all-time with 613 career boards. Bell now has 19 career double-doubles after beginning the season with a school-record 17. For the season, Bell is averaging 11.7 rebounds, tops on the team, and 21.3 points per game.
