Bell Gets 29 as Bulls Crush PanthersBUFFALO, NY - Junior center Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) poured in 29 points, including 21 in the second half as the University at Buffalo women's basketball team overcame a 25-24 first half deficit to pick up their first win of the season over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 78-58. The game was for the most part even in the first half. The Bulls shot 33.3% (8-of-24) from the field compared to the Panthers 32.1% (9-of-28) shooting. The Bulls, however took control of the game in the second half, triggered by a 13 point run on a Sonia Ortega layup (Chihuahua, Mexico/Cobach) with 17:08 left to go in regulation. The Bulls never lost the lead after that point. Tiffany Bell was a huge factor in the second half for the Bulls as 21 of her 29 points came during that stanza. Bell went 8-of-15 from the field and 13-of-17 from the line for the game. She also had seven rebounds in the game. Sonia Ortega turned in another outstanding performance for the Bulls with 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Sophomore guard Mari McClure (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester Adams) added 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field in the game while junior guard Nisha Wilson (Toronto, Ontario/Hampton University) contributed 10 points and five steals in the win. The Bulls are 1-1 on the season and will take on Rhode Island on Sunday at 12:00pm in
