Bridgette Kendricks To Join Bulls For 2007-08
Kendricks is a two-sport standout at Parsons High School, also excelling in track and field. Kendricks was one of 63 players named to the Kansas McDonald’s All-American Team, a list that contains both male and female high school basketball players in Kansas. “Bridgette has outstanding quickness and speed and we will probably look for her to play the three,” said Hill-MacDonald. “She can post up against smaller defenders and I think she will fit in well with our motion offense.” Kendricks, who was the leading scorer for Parsons, was an All-Southeast Kansas League selection each of the last two seasons. In her senior year, she averaged 15.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Her stingy defense in the Lady Vikings’ 1-2-1-1 full-court zone defense netted her 6.5 steals per contest. “Defensively, the thing I noticed was that she comes out of nowhere to get steals,” said Hill-MacDonald. “She has the ability to create her own offense from her defensive intensity and I believe she will make everyone around her better because of that.” “You can tell by watching her play that this is a young lady who truly loves to play defense,” Hill-MacDonald added. Kendricks has Buffalo ties as her cousin, Natosha Cummings-Price is the head coach at Erie Community College. Cummings-Price played for UB for three seasons from 1993-95. Kendricks joins Jessica Fortman (Ashland, KY/Russell) and Tieara Jones (Youngstown, OH/Rayen) who signed with UB back in November. |
