Turner named to the All-MAC Honorable Mention team

CLEVELAND, OH – Junior Heather Turner (West Seneca, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) became a perfect three-for-three in receiving postseason honors from the Mid-American Conference as Turner was a 2006-07 All-MAC Honorable Mention selection. The announcement came at the conference’s annual banquet prior to the MAC Tournament.

Turner currently leads the Bulls in scoring and rebounding and for the third straight season is the MAC leader in field goal percentage. Turner has converted on 61.2 percent of her shots and was third in the nation in field goal percentage in the latest rankings released last week.

Turner was named the 2004-05 MAC Freshman of the Year and last season was named to the All-MAC Third Team. Earlier this season, Turner was also honored as the MAC East Player of the Week following victories against Western Michigan and Central Michigan.

Turner and the Bulls begin the 2007 MAC Tournament tomorrow as they have a rematch of last year’s first round game against Toledo. This season the game will be played at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH and is set to tip off at 5:00 pm or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous game.
