UB Women To Host Eastern MichiganBUFFALO, NY - Following a pair of losses without forward Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy), the Bulls would certainly be glad to see her return to the lineup this evening. The UB senior has been sidelined due to a concussion, but her status is listed as probable for tonight's 7 pm Mid-American Conference tip off against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
The task gets even more difficult this evening, as Eastern Michigan marches in averaging nearly nine more rebounds per contest than Buffalo (42.6 boards per game to UB's 33.9). Another significant factor in the Bulls' rebounding efforts will be sophomore forward Lauren Burd (York, PA/Central York). She had eight points and eight boards in her season debut against Akron last Saturday. The Eagles (16-6, 9-3 MAC) - who have won six straight - feature a high-powered offense that averages 72.9 points per game. Eastern Michigan's field goal shooting (43.5 percent) and three-point shooting (37.9 percent) have been impressive, but the Eagles have struggled from the free throw line (62.8 percent). Eagles' senior guard Marion Crandall - who was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week on Monday - is second in the nation with a 49.0 three-point shooting percentage. Buffalo leads the all-time series between the two schools with a 4-3 record against
Eastern Michigan. Last season, UB posted a 71-65 win over the Eagles in Ypsilanti, MI. |
