Bulls Return Home To Face Miami

UB defeated the RedHawks earlier this season

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will battle the Miami University RedHawks on Tuesday evening at Alumni Arena. Overall both teams have the same record and both will be looking for their eighth victory of the season. This will be the 13th all-time meeting between the schools. Miami leads the series by a 7-5 margin; however UB has won two out of the last three including a thrilling road victory earlier this season at Miami, with the Bulls winning 78-75. The Bulls will be looking to sweep the season series from Miami for the first time ever.

UB (7-15, 2-9 MAC) is coming off defeat at the hands of MAC opponent Western Michigan on Saturday, by a score of 86-42. Sophomore guard Stephanie Bennett (Springfield, OH/Kenton Ridge) was the only player in double figures for the Bulls with 13 points. Sophomore forward Flynn Pyykkonen (Clarkston, MI/Birmingham Marian) contributed with a career-high 10 rebounds and added four points in the game. Sophomore forward Heather Turner (West Seneca, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) added seven points and seven rebounds for the Bulls. UB is coached by Linda Hill-MacDonald who has taken two Division I programs to the NCAA Tournament and has been a head coach in the WNBA.

Miami (7-15, 2-9 MAC) is coming off a 78-55 road defeat versus MAC opponent Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Leading the attack for the RedHawks is senior guard Cindi Merrill who is averaging 15.6 points per game, and by senior center Amber Miller, who has 20 blocks on the season, ranking her fourth in the MAC. Miami is coached by Maria Fantanarosa who is in her 8th season as head coach and has a 125-99 career record as a collegiate coach.
