Bulls Play Host To Central MichiganBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will battle the Central Michigan Chippewas on Wednesday evening at Alumni Arena. Overall the Bulls will be playing for their eighth victory of the season while the Chippewas will be looking to win their 13th. This will be the 7th all-time meeting between the schools. UB leads the series with five victories including all four played at Alumni Arena.
UB (7-13, 2-7 MAC) is coming off a hard fought defeat at the hands of MAC opponent Ball State on Saturday, by a score of 70-56. Senior guard Brooke Meunier (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) led the Bulls with 20 points, while sophomore Stephanie Bennett (Springfield, OH/Kenton Ridge) added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Freshman Jamie Schiebner (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) added a game-high 10 rebounds for her second straight double-digit rebound performance. Sophomore forward Heather Turner (West Seneca, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) continues to lead the MAC in field-goal percentage at 63.5 percent. UB is coached by Linda Hill-MacDonald who has taken two Division I programs to the NCAA Tournament and has been a head coach in the WNBA. Central Michigan (12-8, 3-6 MAC) is coming off a 64-48 victory versus MAC opponent Ohio on Saturday. Leading the attack for the Chippewas is junior forward Ann Skufca, senior forward Chasidy Myers and senior guard Casey Manning, who are averaging 11.5, 10.5 and 10 points per game, respectively. Central Michigan is coached by Eileen Kleinfelter who is in her 5th season as head coach and has a 258-157 career record as a collegiate coach. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
