UB Women's Hoops To Host ToledoBUFFALO, NY - Buffalo's women's basketball team will be attempting to snap a three-game losing streak at 7 pm on Tuesday against the Toledo Rockets. UB however, has won two consecutive home games versus Mid-American Conference opponents.
In that contest, senior forward Kim Kilpela (West Bloomfield, MI/West Bloomfield) led UB with 14 points, while senior forward Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy) notched her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 boards. Kochendorfer is averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest in her last seven games. Toledo (10-9, 6-2 MAC) has won three straight, with its last loss also coming against Bowling Green. Senior guard Kelly Walker leads the Rockets with 12.5 points per game, but fellow senior Julie Hillis is on a tear. The Toledo forward was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week on Monday for averaging 11.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in Toledo's two victories last week. The Rockets lead the all-time series between the two schools, having taken all six games
ever played. All six of those meetings have been decided by double-digits, except for a one-point
overtime win by Toledo at Alumni Arena during the 1999-2000 season. |
