Bulls Basketball To “Think Pink” This Saturday

Coaches urge fans to wear pink this Saturday against Northern Illinois

BUFFALO, NY – In response to N.C. State’s women’s head coach Kay Yow making her way back to the bench after taking a leave of absence while battling cancer, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), is encouraging coaches all over the country to wear pink to their competitions this weekend in order to show support to other coaches throughout the profession who are battling cancer.

For the University at Buffalo Women’s basketball team’s upcoming game on Saturday, January 27, 2007 against Northern Illinois, head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald and her coaching staff are extremely proud to get on board and show their support.

“My staff and I are happy to take part in this worth while cause to support fellow coaches in this profession who are either currently or who have battled cancer,” said head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald. “We urge all our fans and supporters to wear pink on Saturday in an effort to show their support and to ultimately help find a cure.”

The WBCA is hoping that not only coaches and game day staff will wear pink but that fans will also do the same, with the hope that it will unify the women’s basketball community, raise awareness and inspire everyone to learn about cancer prevention.

Pink ribbons will be handed out to fans. Gates open at 1pm- Tip off is at 2pm.
