Bulls Return Home To Host Toledo

The two teams meet for the ninth time

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will battle the Toledo Rockets on Wednesday evening at Alumni Arena. The Bulls are looking to improve their conference record to 3-3. Overall the Bulls will be playing for their eighth victory of the season while the Rockets will be looking to win their seventh. This will be the 9th all-time meeting between the schools. Toledo leads the series with seven victories; however the Bulls' lone victory came when the teams last met at Alumni Arena.

UB (7-9, 2-3 MAC) is coming off a hard fought defeat at the hands of MAC opponent Kent State last weekend, by a score of 73-56. Senior guard Brooke Meunier (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) led the Bulls with 18 points and sophomore forward Heather Turner (West Seneca, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) finished with 14. Freshman guard Jamie Schiebner (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) added 10 points and recorded a team-high 10 rebounds for her third double-double on the season.

The Bulls will look to keep their offense rolling against Toledo. UB has two players averaging double digits with Turner and Meunier averaging 13.9 and 12.6 points per game, respectively. On the season, the Bulls are averaging 37.1 rebounds a game, almost 3 more than their opponents. UB is coached by Linda Hill-MacDonald. She has taken two Division I programs to the NCAA Tournament and has been a head coach in the WNBA. Hill-MacDonald will look to continue UB's success this season versus Toledo.

Toledo (6-9, 1-4 MAC) is coming off a 73-71 defeat to MAC opponent Western Michigan last weekend. Junior guard Danielle Bishop leads the Rockets, averaging 13.5 points per game. Toledo is coached by Mark Ehlen who is in his 11th seaŽson as head coach and has a 326-226 record.
