UB Honored by Detroit Rotary ClubBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team was honored by the Detroit Rotary Club for outstanding sportsmanship during the 1998-99 academic year. The Rotary Club of Detroit has established the Sportmanship of the Year Awards, which are given annually to the Mid-American Conference institutions and teams who demonstrate the most outstanding sportsmanship in their respective sports. Ohio University recieved the inaugural Rotary Club of Detroit Sportmanship of the Year Award, presented to the MAC Institution whose athletes demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball for the 1998-99 academic year. Buffalo was honored as a team winner and received a plaque in recognition of their outstanding sportsmanship in women's basketball. The 1998-99 team sport winners are as follows:
