Bulls Hoping To Win Second Straight

Buffalo women's hoops hosts Marshall at 7 pm on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY - Coming off a 64-60 victory at Cornell on Monday, the UB women's basketball team is hoping to string together consecutive wins for the first time this season when Marshall visits Alumni Arena on Saturday. Buffalo, which is 2-9 overall, will also be looking to remove the goose egg from its 0-2 Mid-American Conference mark.

The Bulls have been getting extremely strong play in the post as of late from seniors Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy) and Kim Kilpela (West Bloomfield, MI/West Bloomfield). Kochendorfer had a school-record nine blocks on Monday and currently leads UB in scoring (12.5 points per game), rebounding (7.8 boards per game) and blocks (2.5 per game). Meanwhile, Kilpela has averaged 15.7 points over her last three contests - having led UB in scoring in each of those games.

At 10-4 overall and 2-2 within MAC play, Marshall enters with an imposing post presence, as well. Senior forward Catie Knable is currently averaging a double-double with 10.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest.

The Thundering Herd tower over Buffalo in two key statistical categories - scoring (70.4 points per game to UB's 57.0) and rebounding (45.0 boards per game to UB's 35.3).

The Bulls will need to overcome those numbers in order to even the all-time series. Marshall currently holds a 5-4 edge, including a 62-59 overtime victory over UB in Huntington, WV last season.
