The Bulls gathered their first conference win of the season as they knocked off the Golden Eagles of Northeastern Illinois Friday night (12/5), 83-68.

The Bulls jumped out to an 18-point lead, 31-13, with 5:19 to go in the first half. Buffalo led 60-40 at the 8:07 mark in the second half, then held off a late charge by the Golden Eagles to take the 83-68 victory.

Buffalo was led by junior Catherine Jacob (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) with 19 points and freshman Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) who added 15 points and 13 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles received 21 points, 11 rebounds from Heather Farquharson and 20 points, 7 rebounds from Radiance Clark.

The game was the Mid-Continent Conference opener for both teams, who are both in their last season in the league.

The Bulls also defeated Chicago State on Saturday (12/6) by a score of 78-48. Buffalo was led by senior center Lisette Prinzing (Milton, NY/Marlboro) with a career-high 15 points and five rebounds. Senior Latoya Crumpton (Buffalo, NY/Hutch-Tech) and Catherine Jacob both contributed 12 points each.
