The UB women's basketball team won their conference opener with a convincing 83-68 win over Northeastern Illinois in Chicago. UB improved their record to 5-3 while the Golden Eagles fell to 2-4.

UB was led by freshman Tiffany Bell who scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Catherine Jacob had another strong outing for the Bulls with 19 points and five assists.

UB raced to a 31-13 lead and held a 38-25 advantage at halftime. Megan McCray had 10 first half points and finished the game with 14. Mari McClure was the other UB player in double figures scoring 11 points.
