Buffalo Earns First MAC Win

McClure gets career-high 27 points as Bulls defeat Eastern Michigan, 78-68

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team earned its first Mid-American Conference win today as they defeated Eastern Michigan, 78-68 in Alumni Arena.

Buffalo (8-4, 1-1) took the first half 36-26 and lead by as much as 12 points in the game.

The Bulls shot 48.3% from the field and were lead by sophomore Mari McClure (Rochester Hillls,MI/Rochester Adams) who had a career-high 27 points, 11 of which came in the final 2:20 of play to secure the victory. McClure went 8-of-11 from the field and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) and senior Kim Coon (Belding, MI/Belding) also scored in double figures. Bell had 15 points and five rebounds while Coon added 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field.

Eastern Michigan center Holly Mitchell paced the Eagles with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

The Bulls travel to Western Michigan on Wednesday for a 5:30 pm tipoff.
