Bulls Keep it Rolling at HomeBUFFALO, NY- The University at Buffalo women's basketball team improved its home game winning streak to 11 games tonight after defeating Ball State, 71-63 in Alumni Arena. The Bulls (13-7, 6-4) shot 51.8% from the field (29-of-56), which included 9-of-11 from senior guard Kim Coon (Belding, MI/Belding) who recorded a team-high 18 points. Senior point guard Catherine Jacob (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) had an impressive performance with 17 points, seven rebounds and seven looks while sophomore center Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) was solid in the paint with 11 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Sonia Ortega (Chihuahua, Mexico/Cobach) also contributed in double figures with 10 points. Ball State's Markita Griffin led all scorers with 23 points. The Bulls will remain at home for more Mid-American Conference women's basketball action Monday night (2/1) in Alumni Arena. That game will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Adelphia Cable (Channel 18). Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm. |
