UB Stadium

UB Stadium

Completed in the summer of 1993, UB Stadium is the home of the football Bulls, UB's track and field teams and, beginning in the 2005 season, UB's men's and women's soccer teams.

The official ground-breaking of UB Stadium was held on September 17, 1991, and the $23 million complex was financed by the New York State Dormitory Authority. The stadium was the site of track and field competition and closing ceremonies for the 1993 World University Games, an event which attracted more than 5,000 athletes from over 130 countries. The facility was also the site of the 1998 men's and women's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the first Division I championship ever contested in Western New York.

A new generation of artificial surface - Sportexe Momentum - was installed in the stadium in the summer of 2005. An eight-lane, 400-meter track circles the stadium's infield, with 186-foot, free-standing light towers providing lighting for nighttime events. The stadium also houses administrative offices and meeting rooms, state-of-the-art training facilities, physical conditioning equipment, two large locker rooms capable of housing 800 athletes, 12 luxury suites and a 45-seat press box. The capacity of UB Stadium is 29,013.
