Baseball Field: Amherst Audubon Field
Amherst Audubon Field, located at the Pepsi Center just across from UB Stadium
and Alumni Arena on the other side of Millersport Highway, is the home to the UB
baseball team. Construction on the field began shortly after the Bulls joined the
Mid-American Conference and made plans to reinstate their baseball program at the
Division I level beginning with the 2000 season. Construction was completed in 2001,
and the Bulls played their first game on the new field, a 12-5 loss to Northern
Illinois, on May 4, 2001. Major renovations to the entire playing surface,
including a new drainage system, were completed in the fall of 2002, and the 2003
season marked the first season that Buffalo's entire home schedule was played at
Amherst Audubon Field. The dimensions of the field measure 330 feet down the right
and left field lines, 380 feet in the gaps and 400 feet to straightaway center.
