National Girls and Women in Sports Day
Keynote Speaker: Beth Mowins
This is Beth Mowins' third year as reporter for CBS Sports' coverage of the
NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. She calls regular-season women's college
basketball for CBS (1998-2000), and play-by-play for women's college basketball
on ESPN/ESPN2. Beth also covers women's basketball for Penn State University
and University of Florida, as well as ACC women's basketball broadcasts, and
has served as reporter for ESPN's coverage of Mountain West Conference football
(1999). She has also served as play-by-play announcer for ESPN's coverage of
NCAA Women's Golf, Softball and Volleyball Championships. Her broadcasting
career began in 1991 as news and sports director for WXHC-FM Radio in Homer,
N.Y.
Beth Mowins graduated from Lafayette College in 1989 where she was captain
of the varsity basketball team (1988-89). She received her master's in
Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University in 1990.
