High School: Earned 11 letters for coaches Josh Reynolds and Lisa Book at Spencerport High School. Finished sixth in the steeplechase (9:38.55) at the 2007 state championships. Placed 11th at the 2006 state cross country championships. Won the Section V championship twice in the steeplechase and once in the 3,000m. Named All-Monroe County for track and cross country two seasons.

Personal: Born July 10, 1989. Son of Eric and Cindy Bloom. Has one brother (Jason). Favorite athlete is Rafael Nadal. Favorite TV show is Mind of Mencia. Favorite foods include lobster and crab legs. Favorite musicians are Metallica. Majoring in psychology.
