UB Track Athletes Get Academic Kudos From MAC

Macander, Greene, Lukin make MAC All-Academic Indoor Track & Field Team

BUFFALO, NY - Junior Marie Macander (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) of the UB women's indoor track team and seniors Rashidi Greene(Webster, NY/Aquinas Institute) and Dana Lukin (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) of the men's indoor track squad received honorable mention academic all conference honors from the Mid-American Conference.

Macander, also a member of the cross country team, is a middle-distance runner and an Engineering major. Lukin is also on the cross country team and is majoring in Biomedical Pharmacology while Greene is a Psychology major and specializes in field events.

Academic All-Mid-American Conference honorees are student-athletes who have excelled in academics and athletics. To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.00 grade point average during his or her college career and be a starter or top reserve during the just-completed season.

All-MAC selection in voting is conducted by Mid-American Conference Faculty Athletic Representatives. Overall, 39 female and 28 male student-athletes earned either first-team or honorable mention on the All-Academic squad.
