Alexandros Stamatakis Places Second At Greek National Championships

Stamatakis wins silver medal with a throw of 52.91 meters

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo Junior Alexandros Stamatakis (Hania, Crete, Greece/First Technical & Vocational School of Crete) took second place in the discus at the Greek National Under-23 Outdoor Championships recently. Stamatakis recorded a throw of 52.91 meters (173’ 8”) to win the silver medal.

This past season, Stamatakis set the UB school record in the discus at the Wake Forest Open with a throw of 167 feet 7 inches. He also won the UB Open in the discus and finished 11th at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
