BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's track and field program will hit the national stage this week as three different athletes will take part in the USATF Junior National Championships, being held June 21-25 at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium on the campus of IUPUI. The top two athletes in each event will represent the United States in the IAAF World Junior Championships from August 15-20 in Beijing, China.

Caitlin Godin (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) will be one of at least 11 athletes competing in the high jump. Godin finished a record-breaking season, where she cleared a personal-best height of 1.75 meters at the Miami Invite and qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships. The high jump will take place on Friday.

Fatimah Hill (Waterport, NY/Lyndonville) will take part in the long jump competition after finishing a season where she set the school record, with a 5.95-meter jump at the Bucknell Bison Open. Hill will compete on the second day of competition, Thursday afternoon.

Mary Veith (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) will be the only track athlete for the Bulls at the event, taking part in the 1500-meter run. Veith is coming off a spectacular freshman season, setting a personal best at the Gina Relays, with a 4:34.28 clocking. In just her first season at Buffalo, Veith placed at the MAC Outdoor Championships and was a major contributor to the distance medley team that won the MAC Championship during the indoor season. Veith will run a preliminary race on Friday, looking to qualify for Saturday's final.
