Track & Field Weekly Release - May 15, 2000UB Throwers Compete at Kent Members of the University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Ohio to take part in the Kent Open where they faced other Mid-American Conference talent in addition to unattached competitors and athletes from various colleges and universities. This was a non-scoring meet.
Fletcher Top Performer Sarah Fletcher (Crystal Beach, ONT/Crystal Beach-Ridgeway) was the Bulls top performer as she placed third in the hammer throw with a toss of 174-2". Other competitors included Adam Smith (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (7th in the discus - 163-2"), Keith Gentes (Warwick, RI/Bishop Hendricksen) (7th in the hammer throw - 182-10"), and Rashidi Greene (Webster, NY/Aquinas Institute) (8th in the hammer throw - 176-6").
