The Top Newcomer Award is presented to the individual student-athlete who distinguishes himself as the most talented new player on the team or the individual who accomplishes the greatest achievements as a first-year player. McRae helped the Bulls to a school-record performance in the 4x400-meter relay at the Akron Open on February 4. McRae ran the opening leg as the foursome finished in 3:16.20. He was also UB's top athlete in the 400-meter run, setting a team-best time of 48.71 at the Akron Zips Invitational on Feburary 17, winning the event. McRae earned second-team All-MAC honors as part of the second-place 4x400-meter relay squad and also reached the finals of the 400-meters, placing third overall in 48.87.

Sebuharara set a personal best triple jump mark of 46-3.50 (14.11m) to finish fourth at the MAC Championships. The Coaches' Award is selected by the head coach and is given to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the team virtues as defined by the head coach. The recipient is one who stands out in dedication, commitment, unselfishness and enthusiasm towards helping the team improve. Weinstein earned second-team All-MAC honors anchoring the 4x400-meter relay squad to a second-place finish of 3:20.16 at the MAC Championships. He was also the anchor leg of the record-setting 4x400-meter relay foursome at the Akron Open (3:16.20). Weinstein was also UB's top performer in the 200-meters, earning a seventh-place finish at the MAC meet (22.47) and setting the Bulls' top time of 22.07 at the season-opening Kent State Black Squirrel Invitational on January 14.

The Most Outstanding Award is given to the student-athlete who makes the most significant contribution to the accomplishments of the team through his skills and leadership. Richards won the indoor long jump titles at the MAC and IC4A Championships on consecutive weekends, earning All-MAC and All-East honors in the meets. He set the school record with his winning leap of 24-9.75 (7.56m) at the MAC Championships. The following weekend, Richards took the IC4A title with a distance of 24-5.50 (7.45m), winning by a full foot over the second-place finisher. His distance at the MAC meet also was a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Championships, however he was unable to gain a slot in the final competition. Richards also set UB's best 60-meter time of 7.01 at the MAC Championships, just missing the finals by two-hundredths of a second.

The Bulls completed their season with a fifth-place finish at the MAC Championships and tied for 21st among 51 scoring teams at the IC4A Championships.
