BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior men's track and field athlete Todd Joki (Saratoga Springs, NY/Schuylerville) has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Field Athlete of the Week. The league made the announcement from its headquarters in Cleveland.

Joki earned the weekly award after a strong performance at the Hillsdale Gina Relays last weekend. Joki won the men's decathlon competition with a season-best tally of 6,504 points, finishing ahead of second-place finisher and freshman teammate Russell Cameron (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) by 507 points.

Joki won five of the ten events, including four on the first day of competition. He posted first-place finishes in the 100-meters (11.28), long jump (22-5.75, 6.85m), shot put (40-4, 12.29m), 400-meters (50.62) and 110-meter hurdles (14.92). He also finished second to Cameron in the high jump at 6-1.25 (1.86m).

His 6,504 point total in the decathlon ranks second in the Mid-American Conference this season.

The Bulls have their final tuneup for next week's MAC Championships with this weekend's Campbell/Wright Open at the University of Akron. The MAC Championships in Oxford, OH begin on May 10.
