The UB men won six events on the afternoon with sprinter Mario Hicks (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) establishing a new school record with his victory in the 110-meter hurdles. Hicks covered the distance in 14.66 seconds, bettering Aaron Parker's 1999 mark of 14.95 seconds. Hicks also won the 200-meters in 21.81.

Also scoring a pair of first-place finishes was Todd Joki (Saratoga Springs, NY/Schuylerville) with victories in the 400-meter hurdles (54.48) and the long jump (22-10.50/6.97m). Doug Johnston (Clarence, NY/Clarence) won the 800-meters in 1:55.81. Dan Simpson (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) took the pole vault at 14-6 (4.42m).

Sprinter Vashone Wallace (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) was the lone individual winner for the Bulls in the women's competition. Wallace took first place in the 400-meters in 59.33, the only entrant to run a sub-minute time in the race.

Wallace also ran the opening leg of UB's winning 4x400 relay squad. She was joined by Jackie Cianfarano (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal Central), Jennifer Anderson (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Tech) and Kate Kohout (Clarence, NY/Clarence) as the team crossed the finish line in 4:05.07.

The squads host the Chancellor's Cup meet on Saturday. Events are slated to start at 10 am.
