Track and Field Weekly Release - March 27, 2000Bulls go to 'Bama The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams rounded out the southern portion of their outdoor track season as they traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take part in the Alabama Relays hosted by the Crimson Tide this past weekend. This was a non-scoring meet.
UB Continues Record-Breaking Tear Buffalo continued its record-breaking ways as last weekend's meet marked the third of the season and third consecutive meet where new school records have been set. For the women's team, Udo Okeke (Seattle, WA/Lagos) and Sarah Kranzler (Central Square, NY/Paul V. Moore) broke individual school records in the 800 meters (2:10.19) and heptathlon (4,529), respectively. New UB records were also set in the 4x100 (:47.92), 4x800 (9:02.66), and distance medley relays (12:18.65). Sarah Fletcher (Crystal Beach, ONT/Crystal Beach-Ridgeway) won the hammer throw (173-6").
Kamau Halim (Medina, NY/Medina) had a big day for the men's squad as he became the new Buffalo record-holder in the triple jump (49-11 1/4") and tied the school mark in the long jump (23-5 1/4"). New UB marks were also set in the 4x1500 (16:09.12) and the sprint medley relays (3:28.27).
