Ludden, Weinstein named to men's team; Laske, Rogers selected to women's squad
BUFFALO, NY - Four University at Buffalo student-athletes have been named to the 2003-04
Academic All-Mid-American Conference men's and women's indoor track and field teams.
Todd Ludden (Hornell, NY/Hornell) and
Bryan Weinstein (Getzville, NY/Williamsville
North) were selected to the men's 14-member team while
Allison Laske (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy)
and Meagan Rogers (Courtenay, BC/George P.
Vanier) were named to the women's 13-member team.
 | | Todd Ludden | Ludden, a senior mathematics major with a 3.456 GPA, is part of UB's distance medley
relay team which qualified for this weekend's IC4A Championships in Boston. He set the school record in
the 3,000-meters (8:32.17) at the Syracuse Invite on February 8. Ludden placed eighth in the
3,000-meters (8:40.42) at last weekend's Mid-American Conference Championships in Ypsilanti, MI.
 | | Bryan Weinstein | Weinstein, a junior management major with a 3.785 GPA, has qualified as part of two
relays (distance medley and 4x400) for the IC4A Championships. Individually, he qualified for IC4A
Championships in the 200-meters (22.13 at the Syracuse Invite). He finished tenth in the 200-meters (22.32)
and 14th in the 60-meters at the MAC Championships in a season-best 7.06 seconds.
 | | Allison Laske | Laske, a senior management major with a 3.336 GPA, has been UB's top middle-distance
runner this season. She earned qualifying marks for the ECAC Championships in the 500-, 800- and
1,000-meter races, setting a school record with her 500-meter time of 1:16.15 at the Kent State Black
Squirrel Invitational on January 10. Laske was named to the All-MAC Second Team after her second-place
finish in the 800-meters last Saturday in 2:11.09. She also won the 800-meter race (2:09.41) at the
Armory Collegiate Invitational on February 14.
 | | Meagan Rogers | Rogers, a senior management major with a 3.571 GPA, finished fifth in the pentathlon at
the MAC Championships with 3,501 points, just seven shy of her school record total from the 2002
league championship. In the five event competition, she won the 800-meter run in 2:24.99 and placed second
in the shot put (38-5, 11.71m). The 3,501 point total also qualified her for the ECAC Championhsips.
She also turned in a top 800-meter non-heptathlon mark of 2:21.75 at the Armory Collegiate Invitational
on February 14.
The honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify,
a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent
of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year
of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from
