Bulls Participate at Regional Meets

Members of UB's men's and women's indoor track and field squads participated at the men's ECAC and women's IC4A regional meets at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. UB's men scored four points to finish tied for 43rd of 48 scoring teams. The women did not score in their meet.

Triple jumper Kamau Halim (Medina, NY/Medina) was UB's lone scorer at the meet. Halim took fifth place in the event with a leap of 49-9 (15.16m). UB also had two participants in the men's 800 meters. Mike Commisso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) placed 10th in 1:51.72 while Ben Moskel (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) was 28th in 1:55.55.

For the women, Sarah Fletcher (Ridgeway, Ontario/Ridgeway-Crystal Beach) finished ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 54-6.75 (16.63m).

In the jumps, Chrissie Matthews (Waterford, NJ/Edgewood) was 12th in the high jump at 5-6 (1.68m) while Biaunca McFarland (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) took 13th in the triple jump at 39-7.25 (12.07m).

In the 800 meters, Christina Keck (Erie, PA/McDowell) took 12th in 2:11.67 while Katie Scott (Salamanca, NY/Salamanca) was 20th in 2:17.18. Jenelle Callender (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Tech) placed 13th in the 200 meters in 25.27.

The outdoor season begins Saturday March 10 with the UNC-Wilmington Quad meet. Saturday's early forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-50s, 10 mph winds and partly cloudy skies.
