UB Men Eighth, Women 11th at MACsBOWLING GREEN, OH - At the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, completed Saturday evening, the University at Buffalo's men's squad finished eighth among 11 schools while the Bulls' women's team placed 11th in a 12-team field. UB's men posted 31 points as Eastern Michigan won the team title with 164 points. The women's team tallied 21 points while Central Michigan finished first with 122 total points.
Distance specialist Todd Ludden (Hornell, NY/Hornell) finished fifth in the 5000 meters in 14:51.83. Teammate Jerimie Slick (Greece, NY/Greece-Olympia) took ninth with a 15:12.29 clocking.
In the women's championships, junior Christina Keck (Erie, PA/McDowell) took second in the 800 meters in 2:12.55 while teammate Allison Laske (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) finished eighth in 2:21.10. Keck improved on last season's performance from the 2001 championships when she took fifth in 2:15.06.
