McFarland, a senior, attained an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump as she broke her own school record to win the event at the Cornell Five-Way on Saturday. She turned in a leap of 41-7 (12.67m), bettering her old mark of 41-3 (12.57m) set two weeks before. Additionally, McFarland also placed second in the 200-meter dash in 25.56, tied for second in the 60-meter dash in 7.89 and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team. The Bulls placed second at the meet behind host Cornell.

Akron sophomore runner Beata Rudzinska was also named a recipient of the award after she provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 800-meters at the Central Collegiates held at Kent State.

The Bulls travel to the Penn State Invitational on Saturday.
