McFarland Earns MAC Award
UB women's track athlete selected MAC Female Co-Athlete of the Week
BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo women's track and field athlete
Biaunca McFarland (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton)
has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Female
Co-Athlete of the Week. The award was announced by the conference office on Monday.
 | | Biaunca McFarland | McFarland, a senior, attained an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump as
she broke her own school record to win the event at the Cornell Five-Way on Saturday. She turned in a
leap of 41-7 (12.67m), bettering her old mark of 41-3 (12.57m) set two weeks before.
Additionally, McFarland also placed second in the 200-meter dash in 25.56, tied for second in the 60-meter dash
in 7.89 and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team. The Bulls placed second at the meet behind
host Cornell.
Akron sophomore runner Beata Rudzinska was also named a recipient of the award after
she provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 800-meters at the Central Collegiates
held at Kent State.
The Bulls travel to the Penn State Invitational on Saturday.
