UB Track & Field Hosts First Indoor Meet

Two New School Records Set as Bulls Men, Women Down Canisius

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field team hosted their first home event of the indoor season and the men (6-2) beat Canisius 117-54 while the women won 121.5-46.5 over Canisius (7-1).

The UB men took first in eight of 17 events while the women won 13 of 17 events. Jenelle Callender (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Tech) was Buffalo's top performer as she captured top honors in both the 55 meter dash (:07.49) and the 200 meter dash (:26.58).

New UB school records were set in both the men's and women's weight throw as Adam Smith (Varysburg, NY/Attica) had an IC4A qualifying toss of 48'8 1/2" and Sarah Flecther (Crystal Beach, Ontario/Ridgeway-Crystal Beach) qualified for the ECAC's with a 56'4 3/4" throw.

Coach Dick Barry's team travels to compete in Western Ontario tomorrow.
