2008-2009: A member of the record-breaking 800 freestyle relay. Earned a life-time best time and placed ninth in the 400 IM (4:23.65) at the MAC Championship meet. Also earned a 16th place finish in the 500 freestyle in a life-time best time of 4:58.53 at the MAC meet. Was named the team’s “Most Improved” following the 08-09 season.

High School: Earned six letters and captained one season at Blaine High School for coach Dave Luedtke. Set school records in nine events. All-state from 2003-2008 and state champion in 2004 and 2006. Also swam eight years for Great Wolf Swim Team under coach David Bentz.

Personal: Born November 8, 1989. Daughter of Bruce and Jennifer Schirmers. Has one brother (Zack). Hobbies include shopping and music. Favorite athlete is Ryan Lochte. Also recruited by Kansas, Minnesota, Rutgers and Miami. Majoring in pharmacy with hopes of one day becoming a pharmacist.
