2008-2009: Earned season-best times in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.46) and 200 breaststroke (2:25.42) at the MAC Championship meet.
2007-08: Finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke and 14th in the 200 breaststroke with career best times (1:05.03, 2:24.49, respectively) at the MAC Championship meet. Swam the breaststroke leg in the record breaking fourth place 200 IM relay and fifth place 400 IM relay at the MAC meet as well.
2006-07: Named the team’s Most Improved in 2006-07. Finished 11th in
the 100 breaststroke (1:06.25) at the MAC Championships. Helped the 200 and 400
medley relay teams to season-best finishes at the MAC meet.
High School: Earned four letters for coach Ron Zugelder at Lockport High
School. A two-time Section VI champion in the 100 breaststroke, finished fourth in
the state in the event. Owns school and league record in 100 breaststroke as well
as the school record in the 200 IM.
Personal: Born October 3, 1988. Daughter of Michael and Mary Shaffert.
Has two sisters (Chrissy, Taylor). Favorite movie is Cool Runnings. Favorite
musical group is Coldplay. Majoring in graphic design.
