2008-2009: Was a co-captain and earned the “Coach’s Award” at the end of the 08-09 season. Achieved a life-time best time in the 200 freestyle and season-best times in the 50 freestlye and 100 backstroke at the MAC Championship meet.

2007-08: Turned in a lifetime best at the Zippy Invitational in the 100 backstroke (1:01.66). Swam a season best in the preliminary round of the MAC Championships in the 100 freestyle (55.27), just two-tenths off her lifetime best.

2006-07: Turned in season-best times in the 50 freestyle (25.27), 100 freestyle (55.25) and 100 backstroke (1:02.32) at the MAC Championships. Part of UB’s 200 free relay team that finished seventh in a season-best 1:37.58 at the MAC meet.

High School: Captained one season at Mount St. Mary High School for coach Dave Finger. Set the Monsignor Martin League record in the 50 freestyle. Named an All-Western New York scholar athlete in 2006. Also lettered in track.

Personal: Born April 27, 1988. Daughter of Mark and Beth Powalski. Has one sister (Kara). Hobbies include making photo albums and scrapbooks. Favorite book is Gone With the Wind. Favorite musician is Avril Lavigne. Majoring in business.
