High School: Earned four letters and captained one year for coach Emily Bunch at Leesville Road High School. Also swam nine years for Mark Toburen at YMCA of the Triangle Area. Was a four-time All American and set records in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay in high school. Was a member of the state champion 200 and 400 freestyle relays in her senior season.

Personal: Born March 21, 1991. Daughter of Kevin and Cheryl Burke. Has one brother (Simon) and one sister (Morgan). Favorite athlete is Katie Hoff. Favorite foods are pasta, pizza and chocolate chip cookies. Chose UB because of the swim team and the campus. Also recruited by UCONN, George Mason, Emory, Johns Hopkins and Maryland. Descrbies herself as unique, fun and outgoing. Major is mathematics.
