High School: Earned four letters at Mason High School under coaches Ken Heis and Mark Sullivan. Broke the 500 freestyle record and was a member of the 400 freestyle relay in high school. Was also an All-American in 2009. Swam seven years for the Mason Manta Rays.

Personal: Born January 27, 1990. Son of Anthony and Mary Rice. Has a brother (Jeremy) and a sister (Alisha). Favorite food is lasagna. Chose UB because of the team and the School of Engineering. Favorite TV show is Seinfeld. Majoring in chemical engineering.
