Swimming and Diving Opens Dual Meet Schedule with Duquesne Bulls look to start the season off positively
BUFFALO, NY-The University at Buffalo men's and women's swimming and diving team will open its 2009-2010 home campaign at 4pm Friday at Alumni Arena Natatorium, as the Duquesne Dukes come to town for the first dual meet of the season. The men opened the dual meet season last year with a loss at Duquesne. This year they look to start the season off right with a win. “We have all the pieces to be very successful,” said senior backstroker Andrew Tamchyna. “Last year was tough losing the first meet of the season. We have more confidence and are definitely more prepared going in to it this time.” The women were able to capitalize and come away with a win over the Dukes last season. “We are stronger this season, in terms of the number of girls on the team,” said senior Caitlin Reilly. "It’s going to be a great meet, we are all excited to see where we are in our training.” The Bulls have 17 new faces eager and ready to see their first dual meet action of their swimming careers. “It’s going to be a good test to see what the new swimmers are made of,” said assistant coach Aaron Bell. “ I’m confident in our swimmers to swim fast and get the job done.”
