Bulls Win Medley Relay to Open MAC Championships Two school records set as women's swimmers start competition BOWLING GREEN, OH - The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team opened the MAC Championships on Wednesday night in Bowling Green, Ohio. The opening event, the 200-yard medley relay, set four different records, including the meet, Mid-American Conference, UB and Cooper Pool records.
The squad of Jessica Ballard, Brynn Marecki, Sam Eckert and Jessie Koltz swam to an impressive 1:39.74 to win the overall event and take home Buffalo's first MAC championship of the weekend, just touching out the competition from Miami.
UB set another school record in the 800-yard freestyle relay as the team of Ballard, Jordan Deren, Alie Schirmers and Keri Chandler placed seventh in a time of 7:30.39, bettering a record set in 2000. UB finds itself in a three-way tie for second place, with Toledo and Ohio also having 64 points. Miami leads the pack after the first day with 74 points. Competition continues through Saturday.
