Seven Swimmers Named to All-MAC Teams Five named to first team, two named to second team CLEVELAND, OH - Coming off its most impressive season in more than ten years, the University at Buffalo men's swimming and diving team placed seven student-athletes on All-MAC teams as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Five swimmers were named to the first team and two to the second team after placing second at the MAC/Sun Belt Conference Championship meet last weekend where the Bulls set 11 school records and had three individual MAC Champions.
Named to the first team were Jake Sangren, who won the 100 backstroke (50:03) at the MAC Championship meet, Connor Vander Zalm, winner of the 1650 freestyle (15:39.75), Zach Ruske, winner of the 200 backstroke (1:47.08), Jared Heine who picked up 52.5 points for the Bulls, and diver Michael McDowell who ended the weekend with 49 points.
Buffalo also had two named to the second team, including Andrew Tamchyna, who collected 38 points and Scott Woster, who collected 33 points on the weekend. Head coach Andy Bashor was also selected as MAC Coach of the Year, sharing the award with Eastern Michigan's Peter Linn.
