STATE COLLEGE, PA- The University at Buffalo
men’s swimming and diving team wrapped up their dual meet
schedule at Penn State this afternoon, falling to the Nittany Lions,
132-102.
Jared Heine
The Bulls posted impressive times against the Big Ten opponent, as Jared
Heine posted a season-best time in the 50 freestyle, swimming to a
time of 21.47, while taking second place in the event. Zach
Ruske took second in the 200 IM as well, finishing in a time of
1:55.43. Freshman Matt
Hogan took a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle (46.80), and Matt
Schwippert had a season-best time in the 200 backstroke (1:50.82),
also finishing in second place.
Kenny Rhoades
The Buffalo divers were successful, as Colin
Patrican and Kenny
Rhoades combined to sweep the diving events. Patrican took first in
the one-meter event with a score of 286.20, while Rhoades went away
with first-place points in the three-meter event, finishing with a
season-high score of 346.45.
The women’s team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as
they host Toledo for their final dual meet of the season. The meet is
set for 1:00 pm at UB’s Alumni Arena Natatorium. Both teams will
take part in the Mid-American Conference Championships at the end of
February and beginning of March.
