Sue Rocque was named head athletic trainer at UB in January of 2001 following a national search. Rocque served as an assistant athletic trainer at UB for 13 years before taking over the head athletic trainer position. A native of Silver Creek, NY, she earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from St. Bonaventure in 1981 before going on to earn a master’s degree in sports health from Texas Tech in 1984 while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Prior to joining the UB staff, Rocque served as an athletic trainer at Fredonia for four years, one as an assistant and three as the head athletic trainer. In recognition of her commitment and dedication to UB’s student-athletes, Rocque was honored with the National Girls and Women in Sports Day Recognition Award in February of 1999. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, the New York State Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. During her professional career, she has worked at the Empire State Games, the World University Games, the New York State Special Olympics, the Pan American Games and the NCAA Swimming and Diving and Track and Field Championships. Rocque is also an instructor in the exercise science program at UB and an instructor for the American Red Cross.

Nick Mouyeos is in his fourth season at UB as the head football athletic trainer after spending the past three years at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina. A 1999 graduate of Gardner-Webb with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a minor in health science, Mouyeos returned to his alma mater and oversaw Division I wrestling and men’s and women’s tennis while assisting with the football program. As an undergraduate, Mouyeos also worked as the primary student athletic trainer for the Gardner-Webb football team. Prior to returning to Gardner-Webb, he spent two seasons at Western Illinois, earning his master’s degree while working with the football and track and field teams.

Jim Mollosky is in his seventh year as an assistant athletic trainer at UB after serving as an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist and director of rehabilitation at the University at Buffalo Sports Medicine Institute from 1999 to 2001. Mollosky is a native of nearby Lockport, NY, and he is a 1997 graduate of Brockport. He also holds a master’s degree from Indiana State, which he earned in 1998. While at Indiana State, he earned the Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. An avid runner, mountain biker and adventure racer, Mollosky is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the New York State Athletic Trainers Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Paula Browning is in her seventh season as a member of the UB athletic training staff, coming from Niagara where she was an assistant athletic trainer during the 2000-01 season. Browning earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Slippery Rock in 1993, and she earned a master’s degree in health and physical education from Georgia College and State University. While at Georgia College and State University, she also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. A native of nearby Tonawanda, NY, Browning also worked as an athletic trainer at Kenmore East High School for one year. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the New York State Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association.

Dale Zulawski is in his fifth season as an assistant athletic trainer. Zulawski is a 2001 graduate of UB with a degree in exercise science. He served as a student assistant athletic trainer for two years and then stayed on as a graduate assistant for two years while he earned his master’s degree in higher education administration in 2003. Zulawski is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers Association.

John Ward is in his fourth season as an assistant athletic trainer at Buffalo. Ward graduated from UB with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in exercise science with a specialization in athletic training in May of 2004. While completing his master’s degree, Ward served as a student athletic trainer for the UB women’s soccer team during the 2003 fall semester, and he did an internship at Sweet Home High School during the 2004 spring semester. Ward also earned a bachelor’s degree in history and psychology from UB in 1995. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers Association.

Allison Gammell, Assistant Athletic Trainer

Allison Gammell begins is in her second season as assistant athletic trainer at UB and will work primarily with the wresting and men's and women's tennis teams. A 2003 graduate of Duquesne University, Gammell spent two and a half years as an assistant athletic trainer and clinical instructor at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. At Colby-Sawyer, Gammell worked with the women's soccer team and the men's and women's alpine skiing and track and field teams. She also taught programs with the athletic training program. Gammel is native of Amherst, NY and a graduate of Amherst Central High School.
