Daniher Joins UB Softball Coaching StaffBUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo head softball coach Marie Curran has announced the hiring of Erin Daniher as an assistant coach on her staff. Daniher comes to Buffalo following a two-year graduate assistantship at fellow Mid-American Conference member Ohio University. Daniher is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and she was a four-year letterwinner and starting shortstop at St. Francis University in Pennsylvania. Daniher was a co-captain and the 2001 recipient of the J. Irving Whalley Sportsmanship Award, given to the senior student-athlete who demonstrates sportsmanship, leadership and a positive attitude both on and off the playing field and who volunteers for community service projects while serving as a role model for the other members of her team. Daniher graduated from St. Francis in 2001 with a degree in nutrition, and she earned a master's degree in coaching education from Ohio in 2003. She is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and the American Council on Exercise and is a certified personal trainer. "Erin is a great addition to our staff, especially because of her enthusiasm and her knowledge
of the Mid-American Conference," said Curran. "She gained valuable coaching experience in her
two years at Ohio, and we're confident that her work with our batters and with the infield will help
our program get to the next level." |
