In game one, Buffalo jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs in the second, one in the third and one in the fourth. Senior Allison Round (Markham, Ontario/Markham District) drove in two runs with a double in the second, while a triple by senior Breanne Nasti (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) in the third and a single by senior Dominique Jones (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) in the fourth drove in one run apiece. Another double by Round and a two-run single by junior Melissa Pace (Long Beach, CA/Millikan) gave the Bulls a 7-0 lead in the top of the seventh before the Bonnies finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning. A two-run single by Joelle Bruneto highlighted a four-run seventh for St. Bonaventure that also included a Buffalo error and two balks by freshman pitcher Sophie Barstad (Canby, OR/Canby). The Bonnies scored all four runs with two outs before Barstad got Laurie Stone to pop up to third to end the game.

Buffalo starter Stacey Evans (Collinsville, IL/Triad) earned the win, pitching the first five innings and allowing five hits and no runs while striking out 10. Molly McCarthy suffered the loss for the Bonnies, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs and striking out three.

In game two, St. Bonaventure struck first as Kristin Brunetto came in to score on a Buffalo error in the bottom of the first inning. The Bulls put three runs across the plate in the top of the sixth, with Jones, Round and freshman Shannon Prochaska (Aloha, OR/Aloha) recording RBIs. After the Bonnies left the bases loaded in the bottom of the inning, a double by sophomore Lisa Wheat (Olympia, WA/Tumwater) drove in two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Stone led off the bottom of the seventh for the Bonnies with a single, but she advanced only to second as Buffalo retired the next three batters for the 5-1 win.

Sophomore Theresa Gugger (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley/Oneonta State) earned her second win of the year on the mound, allowing just six hits and no earned runs and striking out two. St. Bonaventure's Christine Keleher pitched the complete game, allowing 11 hits and striking out four.

The Bulls are next in action this weekend, hosting Marshall in a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
