BOWLING GREEN, OH - The Bowling Green Falcons rebounded from a doubleheader sweep by the Bulls on Saturday afternoon to take the final game of the three-game Mid-American Conference series in Bowling Green, OH by a 10-7 score. The Bulls scored six runs in the final two innings, including two in the seventh on a triple by freshman Julie Hibner (Salem, OR/South Salem), but the Falcons held on for the win to improve to 18-24-1 overall and 9-12 in the MAC. The Bulls now stand at 9-23 overall and 4-14 in the league.

Buffalo got on the board in the top of the first inning when sophomore Marce Ross (Innisfil, Ontario/St. Peter's) led off the game with a double to center and then scored on a single by freshman Melissa Pace (Long Beach, CA/Millikan). Bowling Green countered with three runs on four hits in the bottom half of the inning, and a single run in the second inning and four in the fourth gave the Falcons a commanding 8-1 lead. The Bulls cut the margin to three in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs on five hits.

Ross again led off the inning with a double and then scored on a double by Melissa Pace, Pace crossed the plate on a throwing error by BGSU third baseman Liz Tuza, and a single up the middle by freshman Jackie O'Brien (Selkirk, NY/Bethlehem Central) scored two runs. The Falcons added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth with two runs. After the Bulls forced two runners out at home, Holly Frantz crossed the plate when Marla Murphy was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Kandice Machain then drew a bases-loaded walk to score Jenifer Kernahan. A triple by Hibner in the bottom of the seventh scored two runs, but the Falcons got out of the inning with a strikeout to end the Bulls' attempted comeback.

Buffalo starter Andrea Sage (Depew, NY/Depew) took the loss for the Bulls, allowing three earned runs and six hits in just over an inning of work. Freshman Stacey Evans (Collinsville, IL/Triad) came on in relief, allowing nine hits and six earned runs in the final four and two-thirds innings. BGSU's McKenna Houle earned the win for the Falcons.

Ross, Melissa Pace, Hibner and sophomore Breanne Nasti (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) all had two hits in the game, and Pace, Hibner and O'Brien drove in two runs apiece to lead the Buffalo attack.

The Bulls travel to Akron next for a three-game Mid-American Conference series on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.
