Breanne Nasti Named MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week
Nasti hit .467 with a 1.333 slugging percentage and a .654 on base percentage in seven games last week. The senior was 5-for-6 with five runs scored, eight runs batted in, a double and three home runs - including her second career grand slam - in a doubleheader sweep at Stony Brook on Thursday. In a three-game Mid-American Conference series with Western Michigan last weekend, Nasti was walked in seven of her eight plate appearances in Saturday's doubleheader but then hit a solo home run - her fourth homer of the week - in the bottom of the seventh inning of Sunday's series finale to send the game to extra innings. Nasti has a .324 batting average (12th in the MAC), a .629 slugging percentage (second), a .429 on base percentage (fifth), 26 RBIs (tied for seventh) and eight home runs (tied for third) so far this season. She is a psychology major with a 3.64 grade point average. The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week award is presented to a MAC male and female
student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that
week's competition. The winners are selected by one of the conference's faculty athletic representatives. |
