Carter’s Home Run Not Enough to Sweep Rockets Dana Carter hits second home run in as many days TOLEDO, OH- The University at Buffalo softball team took on Toledo for the second game of the weekend series with the Rockets this afternoon at Toledo’s Scott Park. After winning yesterday’s game 3-2, the Bulls fell to the Rockets, 3-1, this afternoon. Dana Carter earned the Bulls’ only run with a solo home run over the right field fence in the top of the third inning.
The game started out much like yesterday’s game against the Rockets, as Carter hit her second solo home run in as many days, putting the Bulls up by one in the top of the third inning. The home run marked the third of her career and second in the weekend series with Toledo. Carter went two-for-three at the plate. The Rockets came calling in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run home run by Brie Ford to give Toledo a two run edge. Despite out hitting the Rockets 7-4, the Bulls could not get another score. Terese Diaz went two-for-three at the plate and Candice Sheehan, Erin Zilka and Sharon Barr each added hits for Buffalo.
The Bulls start an eight game home stand on Tuesday, beginning with a double header against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, April 28. The game is slated for 3 pm at Nan Harvey Field.
